Lihue

The Lihue area serves as the bustling center of the island's commercial and industrial activities. It is home to key transportation hubs such as Lihue Airport and the main shipping port, Nawiliwili Harbor, connecting the island to the rest of the world. Lihue is also where you will find the bulk of Kauai’s retail centers, as it is home to Kauai’s the Kukui Grove Shopping Mall, as well as several large retailers such as Costco, Target and Home Depot.  In addition to its commercial significance, Lihue is a thriving residential area, accommodating a diverse population. As the seat of the municipal government, Lihue plays a vital role in the administration and governance of the island, adding a layer of civic importance to its dynamic and multifaceted character.
