Second to Oahu, Maui has the most action in the way of nightlife, dining and people. The South and West areas of Maui are where most of the higher end homes are located and they generally have drier weather than other parts of Maui. Again, you get a different landscape here than you do on Oahu and Kauai which have dramatic mountains dropping into the ocean. Because of Maui’s crowds, you also have more crowded beaches and more cars on the road. I would describe Maui as offering the most balanced palette if you want “Hawaii lifestyle” activities and options as well as social activities and options.
