About Waimea
With a rich cultural heritage dating back to ancient times, Waimea offers a glimpse into the island's past and it is the gateway to Waimea Canyon, a breathtaking natural wonder. Nearby, Koke'e State Park also offers its lush forests for scenic hiking trails, and stunning vistas. North of Waimea, Polihale State Park offers miles of untouched sandy shores and awe-inspiring sunsets at the edge of the Napali Coast. Waimea's location on the western side of the island also brings drier weather compared to other areas of the island, evident in the landscape and fauna.
